I am honored to serve as Commissioner of the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS). Our department has 1300 hard working and dedicated employees, who strive daily to fulfill our mission "to provide a safe and secure environment for all people in Utah."
As you will see by our web site, there are many different divisions and bureaus under the DPS umbrella. They provide a variety of public safety services such as law enforcement, communications, criminal identification, regulatory licensing, criminal and arson investigation, forensic analysis, training, safety education, and emergency management.
We are committed to continuous improvement as we focus on our goals and objectives, which include strengthening infrastructure; emergency preparedness, response, and recovery; criminal interdiction; roadway safety; education; and maintaining a thriving workforce. We value knowledge, service, professionalism, courage, integrity and teamwork.
